MediaTek has announced the launch of its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400+, designed to enhance generative and agentic artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in premium smartphones.
Enhanced AI Performance
Building upon its predecessor, the Dimensity 9400+ integrates MediaTek’s eighth-generation AI processor, the NPU 890, which offers industry-leading performance and energy efficiency.
This advancement enables support for large language models (LLMs) and multimodal AI applications directly on the device, facilitating sophisticated AI-driven experiences without relying heavily on cloud processing.
Robust CPU Architecture
The chipset features an All Big Core design, comprising one Arm Cortex-X925 core operating up to 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores.
This configuration delivers significant improvements in both single-threaded and multi-threaded performance, ensuring seamless multitasking and responsiveness for demanding applications.
Extended Bluetooth Connectivity
A notable enhancement in the Dimensity 9400+ is its support for long-range Bluetooth connections, extending up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
This improvement opens new possibilities for device-to-device communication over extended distances, surpassing the capabilities of previous models.
Availability
MediaTek has indicated that smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset are expected to be available later this month, bringing advanced AI functionalities and robust performance to upcoming flagship devices.
