The transition to fully online classes has elicited a spectrum of responses from students and professors, highlighting both advantages and challenges inherent in virtual learning environments.

Student Perspectives

Many students appreciate the flexibility that online classes offer. One student noted, “Better than I thought (very positive)! From one day to another, we were able to transition from offline to online classes without falling behind schedule. Professors are very approachable and eager to help us.”

However, some students find online learning less engaging. A student shared, “The atmosphere of being in the classroom is what made in-person lectures engaging. But when it’s online, I feel restless and distracted, like I always have the option to walk away.

Professor Insights

Professors have also adapted to the online format with varying experiences. Some have found that synchronous activities such as case studies and student presentations are effective, while others note a preference among students for pre-recorded lectures.

Conclusion

The shift to fully online classes has been met with mixed reactions. While the flexibility and accessibility are beneficial to many, challenges related to engagement and the impersonal nature of virtual interactions persist. Continuous adaptation and open communication between students and educators are essential to enhance the effectiveness of online education.
