The Himachal Pradesh government has launched the ‘Mere Shahar Ke 100 Ratna’ program, aiming to provide free coaching for various competitive examinations to 6,800 students across the state.
Program Overview:
- Objective: To offer quality coaching to meritorious students preparing for competitive exams.
- Implementation: CRACK Academy will provide free coaching to 100 top-performing students from each of the 68 Assembly constituencies, with an estimated investment of ₹34 crore.
Selection Process:
- Eligibility: Students from Class VI and above can participate.
- Method: Tests will be conducted in schools and colleges within each constituency.
- Benefits: The top 100 students receive free coaching; the next 200 get a 75% concession, and the following 500 receive a 50% concession.
Additional Initiatives:
- Employment Generation: The program is expected to create over 5,000 direct jobs through the establishment of more than 90 coaching centers.
- Infrastructure Development: An investment of ₹1.5 crore is allocated for renovating and maintaining the library at Ridge, Shimla, preserving its heritage while integrating modern technology.
