The SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) 2025 Phase 1 continued today, with candidates across the country participating in the remote proctored online test.

As per initial feedback, the exam maintained a moderate difficulty level, with Physics and Mathematics sections presenting notable challenges.

Exam Overview

The SRMJEEE 2025 Phase 1 is scheduled from April 22 to April 27, 2025. This year, the exam pattern has been revised, increasing the total number of questions to 130, distributed as follows:

  • Mathematics/Biology: 40 questions
  • Physics: 35 questions
  • Chemistry: 35 questions
  • English & Aptitude (combined): 20 questions

Each correct answer awards one mark, with no negative marking for incorrect responses. The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes, conducted in a remote proctored online mode, allowing candidates to take the test from their homes under strict invigilation.

Section-wise Analysis

Physics: Candidates reported this section to be moderately difficult, with questions spanning topics like mechanics, electrostatics, magnetism, optics, and modern physics. The questions were application-based, requiring a solid understanding of concepts.

Chemistry: This section was relatively easier, featuring questions from inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. The questions were mostly factual, testing candidates’ memorization skills.

Mathematics: Considered the most challenging, the Mathematics section was lengthy and time-consuming. Topics included algebra, geometry, vector 3D, calculus, and trigonometry. The questions ranged from moderate to difficult, necessitating a strong grasp of concepts and extensive practice.

English & Aptitude: This combined section was deemed easy to moderate. Questions covered grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and passage-based queries, allowing candidates to secure marks with relative ease.

Candidate Feedback

Many students found the remote proctored mode convenient, appreciating the ability to take the exam from home. However, some faced technical issues related to internet connectivity and system requirements.

Upcoming Phases

Candidates who missed Phase 1 can apply for the subsequent phases:

  • Phase 2: June 12 to June 17, 2025
  • Phase 3: July 4 and 5, 2025

Applications for Phase 2 are open until June 6, 2025, and for Phase 3 until June 30, 2025.
