At least two students died by suicide in Telangana on Monday (June 16) following the announcement of intermediate supplementary examination results.
In Siddipet district, Gugulothu Harika, a 16-year-old first-year intermediate student, ended her life at her residence in Katkoor village, Akkannapet mandal. According to police, she had failed a subject in her regular exams and appeared for the supplementary test. After she was unable to clear it again, she took the drastic step.
In a separate incident in Mancherial district, Akshaya, a second-year intermediate student, also 16, died by suicide at her residence in Naspur mandal. She allegedly took the step while she was alone at home, upset after failing mathematics.
